About Elsflether Werft 1979 - 2004 - 2015 - 2017
M/Y INSIGNIA is a lovely 1979 Classic Yacht of 55.5 meters in length which was fully rebuilt in 2003.
She was built in Germany by the respected Elsflether Werft GmbH & Co. KG yard. With steel and aluminum being used for the construction, she can attain a speed of 15 knots. The vast and open Main Salon, with the stylish, yet modern Bar and Dining Room en suite, provides a comfortable, intimate and relaxing area for formal entertainment. The honey-brown Tanganyika wood used throughout the yacht creates a warm atmosphere that complements the fittings and the generously proportioned sofas and armchairs in a harmonious environment. Visually separating the Salon and the Dining Room is the free-standing ornamental stairway which leads to the less formal entertainment areas on the Upper Deck. The Dining Room which comfortably seats a party of fourteen, offers a unique setting for exquisite candlelight dinners.
Beyond the Dining Room is the Main Foyer leading to the Owner’s Suite as well as to five guest Staterooms on the Lower Deck. The Owner’s Suite includes a private study with internet/intranet access a spacious king size bedroom with a complete entertainment center, a large walk-in dressing room and “His” and “Hers” bathrooms en suite separated by a Jacuzzi tub.
INSIGNIA’s functional and modern design allows easy access to all the exterior areas. The Upper Deck’s 180 degrees glass-enclosed lounge, serviced by an open Bar, is equipped with a surround sound stereo system and a 52” Plasma screen. The doors open up access to an integrated open-air area for al-fresco dining for fourteen a Bar and a teak seating area. The Sun Deck invites guests to relax in the Jacuzzi surrounded by sun pads, or get exercise with the available gym equipment.
The more leisurely can relax on the private sun deck with its relaxing sun beds and Jacuzzi spa, but also can use the gym equipment while listening to their favourite music. Plenty of superb “al fresco” dining and lounging areas onboard Insignia make this yacht highly appealing to the charterer.
On the Smart Deck, Insignia's outdoor fourteen seater table, shaded by the Beach Deck, is particularly attractive with a selection of comfortable furniture that can be moved around as required. On the same level, the upper saloon offers quiet relaxation, or at the press of a button transforms into an audio-visual theatre.
On the Main Deck, a sweeping central staircase, which leads to the upper decks, separates the very large saloon from the more formal dining area whose exceptionally wide and inviting dining table seats 14 diners in armchair comfort. The elegant and vast interior is light and airy, an effect achieved by the use of large windows, neutral toned fabrics and special Tanganika wood furniture. Fluted columns of the same exotic wood provide an elegant theme that compliments the interior design.
Designer Luiz de Basto chose a modern classic style that is gracious but not too formal. Generous use of fine Italian marbles is made throughout the yacht, as typified by the beautiful Carrara pure white entrance hall floor which is bordered by a handmade mosaic design, and the seductive black and gold Portoro for the outstanding bar and dance floor of the main saloon. Inset panels in different materials and colours are used to give individuality to different areas.
The spacious master suite is situated forward on the Main Deck, with spectacular and unobstructed panoramic views out to sea. Without moving from the king-sized bed, the occupants can admire the passing scenery on either side, or enjoy a television or video feature on the giant plasma screen which is concealed behind a remote-controlled retractable panel when not in use.
The suite includes a comfortable walk-in closet, his-and-hers marble bathroom with central rain-shower spa, and separate office. The very attractive VIP Suite, on the Lower Deck, stretches across the full beam, with a queen sized bed set to one side and a comfortable seating area opposite. The splendid bathroom includes a bath tub as well as a shower and there is a generous amount of storage in a lobby between the bedroom and the bathroom. A flexible arrangement of guest staterooms can accommodate a wide variety of charter groups.
Three of the staterooms, for instance, have a twin bed arrangement that can easily be changed to a king-sized bed. As well, the same guest staterooms each have an additional Pullman bed. Located in the lazarette area of the Lower Deck, a separate Sauna with a dressing-room and a shower room is also available to the guests.
